Abberley House is a modern, well-equipped, purpose built unit in Tipton that provides Respite services to service users with learning and physical disabilities 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Some of our care programmes are listed below however, personalised care plans will be designed and developed with individuals, their families and representatives to ensure we meet individuals needs and aspirations:
|Day Support - || Will enable individuals being cared for to spend time at the centre, enabling carers/families to have some time on their own.|
|Adult Placement Scheme - ||Can be arranged for individuals who require supported accommodation on an interim basis.|
|Emergency Care arrangements - ||Will be provided if carers are not able to continue offering care due to unforeseen circumstances.|
|Domiciliary Care/Sitting Service at home - || Can be arranged with the least disruption. |
|Holiday - ||Breaks for service users can be organised with the appropriate support provided |
Transportaion services will be made available to escort service users to and from planned actitivites. Additional transport services to and from daycare/home should be discussed with the the Care Manager.
Facilities at Abberley House
Abberley House is situated off a quiet residential estate and offers accomodation which is set over two floors. The service can accommodate mixed gender and age groups whilst maintaining individual privacy and dignity.
Abberley has 9 en-suite rooms of which 2 are equipped with ceiling track systems. Other facilities include; 2 Lounges, Kitchen, Dinning room, 2 Conservatories, Sensory room, activity room and a Soft relaxation room.
Whilst staying at Abberley House, individuals will have their own bedroom and clients are welcome to bring personal belongings. A choice of nutritional meals will be freshly prepared by our chef who will take into account each persons dietary requirements.
We would encourage service users and their families/carers' to visit us for a few hours so that you can get to know the staff and the service. Families and Carers will be kept fully informed as required during the duration of the stay.
Using/Accessing our Services
We would be happy to provide support to individuals who are referred by Social Services or who are purchasing services through Direct Paymens or Individual Budgets.
On referral, our Care Manager will arrange a meeting with the service user and their families at Abberley House to discuss needs and requirements. Our intension is to provide you with sufficient information so that you are able to make informed choices that provides you with peace of mind.
We work with key health and social care professionals and partners to provide a seamless service and undertake an in-depth individual assessment which defines appropriate levels of support which is monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.
We have a dedicated, well-trained, qualified and motivated team of carers who can meet the specialist needs of each person protecting their privacy and dignity in a safe environment.
